All Attendees to the Ohio State Moose Association Convention,
In the uncertain and unforeseen world that we now live in…our lives are changing every day.
After very much deliberation, the Executive Committee of the Ohio State Moose Association has made the decision to cancel the up-coming "in person" convention scheduled for August 12-16, 2020.
We are sure you are aware of the COVID-19 situation in Cuyahoga County (Independence) and it is our desire to not put our members in harms way.
The 92nd Annual Convention will now be presented as the first ever "Virtual Convention" of the Ohio State Moose Association to be held on August 29th, 2020.
What does this mean and what does this affect?
- Your sleeping rooms in Independence have been automatically cancelled by the Holiday Inn. If you are unsure…feel free to contact them directly.
- Those Lodges, Chapters, Districts & Moose Legions who have donated as "Boosters" will automatically have your name in the February Conference booklet.
- There will not be a Women of the Moose training or Conference. Convocation will be scheduled at a later date.
- All District Hospitality room deposits will be carried over to our next event. For details…please contact the Holiday Inn.
- The Fellowship Conferral which was scheduled for this Convention has been postponed until our February Conference.
What will take place!
- The first ever Ohio State Moose Association "Virtual Convention" on August 29, 2020.
- The agenda is "in progress" at this time and will be posted on the Ohio State Moose Association website at www.ohiomoose.com
- A new portal has been added to the website with information concerning the upcoming "Virtual Convention"…please watch for updates.
- There will be a gathering of each District on August 29, 2020…to be determined by the District Officers.
- Roll calls of Governors, Administrators and lodge members will be taken by District Presidents at the District gatherings.
- Nomination of Officers will take place by the Nominating Committee via the website. Nominating Committee members will be notified of how to access this information.
- Election of Officers will take place via the website. Governors, Administrators and State Board Members will be given access to vote on officers.
- Governors, Administrators and State Board members will be given access to vote on other items of necessary business.
- Installation of Officers for 2020-2021 will take place live during the Virtual Convention. (please see the agenda when posted).
- Obviously, there will not be a Parade of Checks. Please send all donations to Moose Charities or to the OSMA Museum Inc. (which ever your gaming contract requires).
We are looking forward to having everyone participate in this first ever "Virtual Convention" of the Ohio State Moose Association.
