Pilgrim Walter Steele, member of Miamisburg Lodge 1645, passed away on October 13, 2019

OBIT: Walter C.J. Steele, 78, of Miamisburg, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 at Kettering Medical Center.

He was born October 27, 1940 in Dayton, the son of Carl and Lois Steele.

Walter retired from Dayton Progress after 42 years of service. After retirement, he went to work for Voss Chevrolet where he was still employed. Walter enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Cora (Deaton) Steele; children, Tony (Susie) Steele and Robert Steele; 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents; 6 siblings, daughter, Bettina “Betsy” Steele-Eldridge; and his granddaughter, Jamie Steele.

A funeral service will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at GEBHART-SCHMIDT-PARRAMORE Funeral Home, Miamisburg. The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery, Miamisburg. Condolences may be expressed to the family at

Fellow Chuck Peyton, member of Bellefontaine Lodge 2563 passed away on October 9, 2019.

OBIT: Charles E. “Chuck” Peyton 73 of Bellefontaine, passed away Wednesday October 9, 2019 at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. He was born September 21, 1946 in New Albany, Indiana. He was the son of Ralph and Delmas ‘Susie’ (Jarnigan) Peyton. Chuck retired from owning and operating his own screen printing business, as well as trucking, and cell phone sales. He was an active member in the Bellefontaine Moose Lodge 2563 since 1978 and also Moose Legion officer of the Higher Degree. Survivors include his wife Sandy; sons James (Mary) Peyton, Greg (Kerri) Peyton; step daughters Patti (John) Cupp, Amy (Mike) Lump, Kim (Jim) Cooper; brother Hugh ‘Ed’ (Sheila) Sermon; sister Linda (Michael) Allen; 8 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Bob Sermon, sister Sandy Avila, brother Robert Sermon. Funeral services will be held 12 noon Monday October 14, at Jennings Farley & Seeley Funeral Home & Crematory 5591 US Rt 68 South West Liberty, Ohio 43357. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-5 pm as well as Monday 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in Harper Cemetery.

Pam Chaney, Member of Chillicothe Chapter 2044 and wife of Past OSMA President Steve Chaney passed away on October 8, 2019

Obit:Pamela Ann Chaney, 69, of Chillicothe, passed away 10:29 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2019 in Grant Medical Center as the result of a fall at home

She was born July 7, 1950, in Chillicothe to the late Russell D. and Jane L. Wagner Morgan. On April 7, 1984, she married Steven Chaney who survives

Also surviving are children, Bill (Ronda) Riddle, Tammy Howard, Carrie Riddle, Melissa Hill and Mendy (Larry) Hinty, all of Chillicothe; grandchildren, Tyler, Matt, Adam, Abby, Mikayla, Maeryn, Noah, Tim and Campbell; great-grandchildren, Darian and Gracie; her twin brother, Jim Morgan, of Chillicothe; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; sisters-in-law, Jo Ellen Morgan, of Piketon and Emily Morgan, of Washington, DC. She was predeceased by brothers, Terry Allen and Steven Lynn Morgan

Pam retired from Hastings Electric and was a 1968 CHS graduate. She was a lifetime member of Post #108 VFW Auxiliary, Women of the Moose Lodge #2044. She served as 1st lady of the Ohio State Moose Association when her husband was president. Pam dearly loved spending time with her family and friends and enjoyed watching the Cincinnati Bengals and the Ohio State Buckeyes

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, 2019 in the WARE FUNERAL HOME with her twin brother, Jim Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the WARE FUNERAL HOME from 4-7 p.m. on Monday where a Moose Tribute service will be conducted by the Women of the Moose at 6:30 p.m
